Hiltunen is specialized in creating contemporary classical music in a neo-romantic style. His compositions are known for their emotive and expressive melodies, rich harmonies, and evocative atmospheres. Whether the customers are a solo performer, ensemble, or orchestra, he is dedicated to providing with unique and engaging pieces. His pricelist is designed to be flexible and cater to the needs of various types of clients.
Outside the euro zone, prices are applied according to the exchange rates valid at the time of a commission.
Pricing follows general professional principles, but the minimum recommendations of the Finnish Composers' Association, regarding fees payable to composers, will also be taken into account.

Educational and editorial services
Educational
In addition to composition and arranging, Mr. Hiltunen teaches music perception, composition, arranging, and viola playing. He graduated with excellence as a music pedagogue from Tampere University of Applied Sciences in June 2023 and has since taught music perception occassionally at the Tampere Conservatory and in his study in Lapinlahti, Helsinki. Remote lessons via Zoom, Teams, or Google Meetings are also available.
The first 30-minute introductory and assessment visit is free of charge. Lessons (45 min) are charged at €60 incl. VAT. For invoicing outside the eurozone, the exchange rate applicable at the time of the lesson will be charged.

Editorial
Mr. Hiltunen has been a member of the Finnish Sheet Music Graphicians' Association since Autumn 2017 and has worked in editorial positions professionally with numerous orchestras, institutions, publishers, individual musicians, and music festivals.
His editorial projects include collaboration with Schott Music GmbH between 2018 and 2020 (publications of Camille Saint-Saëns' Danse macabre for violin and orchestra (ETP 1379), Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Serenade melancolique for violin and orchestra (ETP 1907), and Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture (ETP 675) for the Eulenburg Miniature Score series), the complete score of Jean Sibelius's Karelia music (as reconstructed by Kalevi Aho in 1997) from the manuscript as a display of the preparation of performance material (Lahti Conservatory, 2018), Louise Farrenc's Overture No. 2 in E-flat major, a fair copy based on a manuscript ordered from Paris for a joint concert by Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Turku University of Applied Sciences, and Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences on March 12, 2020, at Turku Cathedral, Greta Damström's Cradle Song for orchestra, from a manuscript for the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra in January 2025, and editing the children's choir parts within the first act of Giacomo Puccini's Tosca into a practical sheet music for the Finnish National Opera for performances starting in November 2025 and running up to January 13, 2026.
Pricing is based on the latest recommendations from Finnish Sheet Music Graphicians' Association for minimum editorial fees, ranging from a minimum of €8.50 per page for chamber music works up to €18 for large-scale orchestral and oratorio/opera works. In addition, a basic editorial fee of €33 is added to each project, as well as VAT at 25.5% within Finland.
